Prof. María J. Vicent is the head of the Polymer Therapeutics Lab and coordinates the Cancer Program at the Prince Felipe Research Center (CIPF) in Valencia, Spain. She also coordinates the Valencian specialized screening site within the European infrastructure ERIC EUOpenScreen and is a PI at CIBERONC. María serves as Secretary on the CRS Board of Directors and is a fellow of the FNAI, AIMBE, and CRS College of Fellows. She has been recognized with several Idea as well as women in science awards.
María’s research group (www.VicentResearchlab.com) focuses on developing novel Polymer Therapeutics for various therapeutic and diagnostic applications. Her work has been funded by both academia and industry, including prestigious grants such as an ERC Consolidator Grant and two ERC Proof of Concept grants. María has co-authored over 150 papers and holds 15 patents, some of which have been licensed to the pharmaceutical industry and are currently in use. She is also the co-founder of PTS SL, now a well-known CDMO, Curapath. Additionally, María serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews (ADDR).
