Sei Kwang Hahn is the Seok Cheon Endowed Chair Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at POSTECH. He obtained his BS, MS and PhD (1996) at KAIST. After working at LG Chem, he did his post-doctoral research with Prof. Allan Hoffman at University of Washington for 2001-2002. He worked at the Hoffman-La Roche group, Chugai Pharmaceutical Co. for 2002-2005. Since 2005, he has worked at POSTECH. He was a visiting professor at Harvard Medical School for 2012-2013 and at Stanford University for 2019-2020. He is the founding CEO of PHI BIOMED company. He won many prestigious awards including the Science and Technology Medal of Korean President in 2024, the CRS Award in 2018 and the Korean President Award in 2015. He was the Presidential Advisory Council and is the National Academy of Engineering Korea. He published more than 180 papers and filed more than 130 patents. He has worked as the Editorial Board Members of many journals including Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, several ACS journals, and Advanced Nanobiomed Research, the Guest Editor of Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews and Journal of Controlled Release, and Biomaterials, and the Associate Editor of Biomaterials Research (IF 11.3) and Biomaterials (IF 14.0).
