Anna Salvati is an Associate Professor at the University of Groningen, Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy (Netherlands).
The research in her lab is focused on understanding how nanomedicines interact with and are processed by cells and in particular the modifications nanomedicines encounter upon administration in biological fluids (where a biomolecule corona can adsorb on their surface), nanomedicine interactions with cell receptors, mechanism of uptake, intracellular trafficking and final fate inside the cells. A large parte of the research in the group also include the development of novel methods to be able to study these questions.
