Ms. Trinette Fernandes is a PhD student in the Department of Pharmaceutics and a registered Pharmacist. Her work focuses on drug delivery systems, pharmaceutical analysis and infectious diseases. Her PhD research involved the formulation development of a vaginal drug delivery system for HIV prophylaxis and contraception in collaboration with the National Institute for Research in Reproductive and Child Health (NIRRCH). Her Doctoral project was awarded ‘Best women-centric project’ at IIT Bombay-RGSTC "Accelerating Technology Commercialization Program 2.0" which was among the selected top 12 projects by the funding agency for the year 2021-2022. She has contributed to multiple industry-sponsored projects on different therapeutic areas including anti-cancer activity and malnutrition.
