Peter van Hoogevest, CEO, Pharmanovation Consulting, is a pharmacist with PhD (biochemistry) (Utrecht University, NL) and degree of Privatdozent in pharmacy obtained at the University of Basel, CH.
His industrial career started at the Biovet Group of the Animal Health Division of Ciba-Geigy Ltd. (Basel) in 1984. Shortly thereafter he obtained a position at the Novel Dosage Form Department of Pharmaceutical Development of the Pharmaceuticals Division of Ciba-Geigy Ltd. He founded in 1998 ADD Advanced Drug Delivery Technologies (Muttenz, CH) and became CEO of this company. In 2000 he joined Phares Drug Delivery AG (Muttenz, CH), a company specialized in the delivery of poorly water soluble drug substances, as Managing Director and COO and member of the Board of Directors. From 2012-2020 he was Managing Director of the Phospholipid Research Center, Heidelberg and Head of the Scientific Department (including the Development Department) of Lipoid GmbH, Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany. From 2021 on he runs his consulting company Pharmanovation, based in Rheinfelden, Germany.
His drug delivery expertise especially in the (phospho)lipid research and development area is underscored by 75 scientific publications, including 10 book chapters, 33 symposium posters, co-promotion of 48 PhD Theses, 14 patents and 45 patent applications.
