Giuseppe Longobardi is a final-year PhD candidate in Pharmaceutical Science at the DeliTech Lab, Department of Pharmacy, University of Naples Federico II, under the supervision of Prof. Fabiana Quaglia and Prof. Claudia Conte.
His Ph.D. project, "Translational Development of Multifunctional Polymeric Nanoparticles to Overcome Multidrug Resistance in Cancer Therapy," focuses on designing biodegradable nanoplatforms that combine chemotherapy with light-activated therapy, peptides therapy and gene therapy to target resistant solid tumors.
During his PhD program, he had the opportunity to be a visiting PhD student in two prestigious laboratories. In his first year, he spent a month at the University of Catania in the Photochemistry Laboratory under Prof. Salvatore Sortino's supervision. Since June 2023, he has been a visiting PhD student at Tel Aviv University's Cancer Research and Nanomedicine Laboratory, working under Prof. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro's supervision.
