Elena Lagreca earned a Master's degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology from the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Naples Federico II. Her thesis focused on the calorimetric study of the interaction involved into assembly of layer-by-layer nanocarriers. She then earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Product and Process Engineering from the Department of Chemical, Materials, and Production Engineering (DICMaPI) at the University of Naples Federico II, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Technology in Naples. Her doctoral research was dedicated on developing nanometric drug delivery systems based on secondary nanoemulsions, enhancing their biomimetic features. Additionally, she collaborates on various projects involving the development and characterization of polymeric microparticles and cellulose patches as suitable delivery systems for drugs, food, and cosmetics applications. Currently, she is a Post-Doc at the Italian Institute of Technology in Naples, where she conducts research on developing nano and micro drug delivery for RNA therapeutics.
