Jan Hendrik Schattka has studied Chemistry at the Philipps-Universität Marburg with a focus on polymer chemistry. He worked on his PhD at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Golm, under supervision of Rachel Caruso and Markus Antonietti.
After his PhD, he started to work for Degussa, which became Evonik later on. He is heading a R&D group, which deals with polymers and processes for pharmaceutical and medical products.
