Trained as biomedical chemist as the University of Mainz (Germany), I introduced polymer-based approaches to stabilize nanoparticles in blood during my PhD. Realizing the challenge of translating nanomedicines to clinic, I decided to dive deeper into the medical sector and did postdoc at Radboud University Medical Center. There, I applied my skills in nanotechnology introduce novel imaging agents for MRI and multimodal imaging. After leading nanochemistry projects at Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research and University of Twente, I wanted to create “real-life” impact with science I was doing. Therefore, I have incorporated Phos4nova B.V., to supply biodegradable, tailor-made polymers, polyphosphoesters (PPE; PPn) for formulation of high-precision nanomedicines, where PPE provide stealth effect and enable developing theranostic, MRI-traceable nanoparticles that do not require labeling with a contrast agent.
