Ioanna is a leader in biotech startups, with a track record of securing capital towards developing drug delivery systems for cardiac, pulmonary, and CNS diseases across different modalities (RNA, cell therapies, small molecules).
At Sixfold Bioscience, Ioanna is leading the preclinical R&D, being responsible for identifying and implementing the preclinical R&D strategy. Her team established the pharmacological assessment of the technology, devising the strategy for target/disease selection. This work contributed to the creation of commercial alliances and a $10M seed funding round.
Prior to this, Ioanna co-founded Experiment Ltd with the vision of accelerating pharma research productivity by implementing cloud-based software solutions. Ioanna has advised on commercial strategy and infrastructure deployment as a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of the Royce Institute of Materials; and facilitated the transition of technologies from the laboratory to the marketplace as an expert for the European Commission.
Education: Post-doc at Molly Stevens group at Imperial College London, PhD at the University of Geneva, PharmD Univesrity of Athens, MBA at the London Business School.
Notable awards: Honorary Fellow at Imperial College London (2022), a Future Leader Fellow by UK Research and Innovation (2021), and awarded the Seal of Excellence by the European Commission (2020).
