Luigi Calzolai, PhD

Dr. Calzolai holds a PhD in chemistry (University of Siena). After a Postgraduate Research at the University of California, Davis, he joined ETH in Zurich, in the laboratory of the then Nobel laureate Kurth Wuthrich, where he determined the NMR 3D solution structure structure of prion proteins. In 2008, he joined the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission where his research focuses on the development of methods for the characterization of nanomedicines (in particular RNA therapeutics) and biotherapeutics.
