Sandeep is currently Senior VP, TechOps at Saliogen Therapeutics where he is responsible for Novel Drug Delivery, CMC manufacturing and Quality of gene therapy products. Prior to joining SalioGen, Dr. Nema spent 24years at Pfizer in Pharmaceutical Development with progressively increased responsibilities leading to the role of Executive Director, Biopharmaceutical Sciences. At Pfizer he was responsible for all pre-proof of concept biologics projects (~50) from discovery to Phase3. Through his career, he has led various functions including Preformulation, Formulation, Microbiology, Stability and Portfolio Groups. Sandeep received his PhD in Pharmaceutics and has worked at Mallinckrodt Medical and Searle/Pharmacia/Pfizer, developing parenteral dosage of multiple modalities - vaccines, proteins, cell and gene therapy. Dr. Nema has several patents, papers, posters and presentations to his credit including co-editing a well-established, authoritative, book “Parenteral Medications”. He has been Steering Committee member of “Handbook of Pharmaceutical Excipients”. Sandeep has been closely associated with the registration and approval of multiple small and large molecule medicinal products. Sandeep is active in PDA and AAPS (past President Sterile Product Focus group). Sandeep is an Adjunct Associate Professor at University of Tennessee and lectures at University of Mississippi, College of Pharmacy. He is also a Regulatory Affairs Certified Professional.
