Postdoctoral researcher
Institute for Experimental Molecular Imaging, RWTH Aachen University Clinic
Quim Peña obtained his PhD degree in Chemistry from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain) and the Aix-Marseille Université (France) in 2019, focused on the study of metal-based anticancer compounds. Since 2020, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Experimental Molecular Imaging (RWTH Aachen University Clinic). His research is focused on the use of nanotechnology and prodrug chemistry for improved delivery of bioactive metals and (metal-based) drugs, with the aim of enhancing (immuno-)therapeutic efficacy, treatment tolerability and, ultimately, promoting clinical translation. He is part of the management committee of a European COST-Action Grant on metal–organic framework materials (EU4MOFs), and is involved in different scientific societies, including the Young Scientist Committee team of the CRS (CRS YSC).
