Dr. Valeria Nele is an Assistant Professor (RTD-A) in the Department of Pharmacy at theUniversity of Naples Federico II, where she develops lipid-based nanoparticles for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Previously, she was a Fondazione Veronesi Post-Doctoral Fellow working on microRNA-loaded nanoparticles for metastatic melanoma in the group of Prof. De Rosa. Prior to her Fellowship, she was a post-doctoral researcher in the same group, where she worked on lipid nanoparticles for brain drug delivery. She received her Ph.D. from Imperial College London under the supervision of Prof. Molly Stevens, during which she developed ultrasound-responsive nanoparticles to control hydrogelation. She was awarded the Matthey PhD Prize from Imperial College London, the Italy Made Me Award from the Italian Embassy in London, and the Best Oral Communication Award at the Amyc Biomed Conference
