PhD Student
Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC)
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
Noelia Ruiz-González completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry in 2018. She started her master’s degree in Drug Research, Development, Control, and Innovation at the University of Granada (Spain). In 2020, she was awarded the FPI fellowship from the ministry, which paved the way for her doctoral thesis. Currently, she is a PhD student specializing in Nanoscience at the Smart Nano-bio-devices Group, a part of the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), led by Dr. Samuel Sánchez. Her research is focusing on the design of enzyme-powered nanomotors. She studies their dynamic motion within viscous and complex environments, which are specifically designed to simulate the biological barriers present within the human body, such as synovial fluid. Her work holds particular significance in the field of injury treatments.
