Dr Ana Armiñán obtained her biology degree at the University of Valencia (Spain) in 2004. In 2009, she joined the Polymer Therapeutics laboratory where she is senior researcher focused on the study and biological characterization of polymer therapeutics in vitro and in vivo mainly for the treatment of breast, prostate and ovarian cancer. She is the responsible of the preclinical evaluation of nanoconjugates and the development of animal models in the Polymer Therapeutics laboratory. During her carrier she has developed faithful preclinical models (animal models, 3D models, co-cultures and human organoids derived from patients) though which the activity and mechanism of action of multiple nanomedicines has been demonstrated. She is interested in the application of metabolomics, proteomics and transcriptomics for the study of nanomedicines responses and the biomarkers search. She has been pioneer in the use of metabolomics to explain nanomedicine response and she has been working for the last 14 years on conjugate uptake and cellular trafficking using qualitative and quantitative methodologies. She is the author of 1 patent and 30 academic articles published in international renowned journals.
