Dr. Ronald Pettis is former Senior Director of Translational and Clinical Sciences at BD (Becton Dickinson) in Research Triangle Park, NC, current Principal of RJPettis Ventures Consulting, and a Governing Board Member of the Subcutaneous Consortium. He has over 30 years of successful development experience in parenteral drug delivery systems and pharmaceutical formulations, pre-clinical combination product evaluation, first-in-man clinical trials, and biological, protein and analytical chemistry. He has designed and implemented over 40 translational human clinical trials, successfully transferred numerous technology concepts through product launch, holds 48 issued US patents, and has authored 31 journal articles and book chapters on drug delivery, clinical sciences, and preclinical translational studies. He received his BS in chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and MS and PhD in Chemistry from the University of NC at Chapel Hill.
