Alice Melocchi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Milan. Within the PhormulaMi - Formulation and technology frontiers in pharmaceutics - Lab her main research activity concerns the evaluation of new techniques and smart materials for the development of innovative delivery systems. In 2016 (when she was a post-doc) Alice co-founded the startup Mutilply Labs, Inc. based in San Francisco, in which she still holds the position of Chief Scientific officer. The company was selected for taking part in the 2016 Y Combinator summer batch with a project based on the application of 3D printing to the manufacturing of customized delivery systems. Currently, Multiply Labs is focused on implementing robotics in pharmaceutics for the production of personalized medicines. In December 2018, Alice was nominated among the Inspiring 50 Italy, the most inspiring Italian women in technology.
