Additionally, a summary of key global grant applications will be summarized and presented. Join us for a fun-filled evening in our exciting YSC and Focus Group Networking event. This event will provide the young scientist with a wonderful opportunity to network with like-minded peers and invited luminaries and researchers from across the globe. The event will have ice-breaking fun activities and gives you a chance to interact with participants from around the world and foster lifetime connections, collaborations and memories.
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Chats with Luminaries
Enjoy speed dating with luminaries! This event organized by YSC will give early career researchers the unique opportunity to do face-to-face interaction with recognized names from the CRS world. During the event, you will have a chance to ask accomplished scientists the questions you have always wanted to ask.
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Meet & Greet with a Luminary
As young scientists, we are inspired by and follow in the footsteps of giants in our field. Join us as we are honored to host and hear about the career path of, encountered challenges, and breakthrough successes in drug delivery from a luminary.
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: YSC & Industry Foresight Council Meeting
The Industry Foresight Council (IFC) works with the Controlled Release Society Board to better leverage the overall value that industry can bring to our community. In this session, we will have the opportunity to get to know the career path and current focus of IFC members, consisting of scientists from big pharma companies and industry associations such as Roche, Merck, AstraZeneca, Sanofi, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and IPEC-Americas. A Q&A slot will follow, in which young scientists will have the opportunity to ask questions about industry-focused careers.
2:30 PM – 3:30 PM: Careers in Industry Roundtable
Come hear from industry experts at mega pharmaceuticals about their firsthand experiences transitioning to and navigating industry! This session is perfect for young scientists considering academia/industry-adjacent & industry careers after graduation and get exclusive insight as well as answer their burning questions. What is the interview process like and pharma life afterwards? How does life at the bench differ compared to academia? Come find out at the Careers in Industry Round Table.
8:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Scientific Workshop
Join us for selected talks from young scientists around the world! Local chapters were asked to nominate one young scientist who is attending the conference to submit their abstract for the chance to give an oral presentation. These abstracts were evaluated and scored, the top five young scientists are invited to give a short oral presentation that will be judged live during this session. Awards will be given to the top two presentations.
